This limited collection is a proof of concept bridging physical trees to digital artwork and capital raise for an all-female founding team.
[Los Angeles, California]: Today Sādu announced the first release of NFTs that keep trees alive, a new feature that will soon be integrated into the company’s play to earn mobile app. Every NFT was created using generative design and contains enough data to verify the stewardship of a living tree. The Summer Collection contains 250 of 1000 total pieces and offers a new way to contribute to ecosystem restoration using increased transparency and traceability.
The entirety of the collection will benefit from participating in restoration projects SeaTrees, The Haiti Tree Project, and Re-Climate. Funding from each sale will be allocated to the artist (25%), ecosystem partners (25%), and Sādu (50%). Additionally, ecosystem partners receive royalties on secondary sales to maintain kelp forests, restore terrestrial forests, and teach regenerative agroforestry. Sādu will use the remaining proceeds to develop the mobile DApp and play to earn tokens.
The Summer Collection was designed by artist Stacie Ant. She describes her style as “character-driven work [that] operates as a critique and rejection of the male gaze, enhanced by a modern culture of digital immersion. [Stacie] harnesses the very digital tools offered in a technologically dependent world as a means of empowering female identity and sexuality. Often humorous, [her] work offers a way of looking at a fast-paced digital realm through a lens of irony and satire.”
“The goal of Sādu is to create a positive reward for investing in a healthy planet. This limited collection is a proof of concept bridging physical trees to digital artwork, giving way to new concepts behind eco-conscious identities in the metaverse and the sense of reward for committing capital to nature-based carbon removal.” Brittany Salas. Co-founder & CEO at Sādu
“We’re very excited about our new partnership with Sadu and their innovative approach to changing the narrative on NFTs and the environment. SeaTrees is a big believer in Sadu’s values and we’re impressed with the use of a much more energy-efficient blockchain. We can’t wait to see how many people get moving and plant some SeaTrees with Sādu’s NFTrees!” Kevin, Director of Sustainable Surf and SeaTrees.
“Our partnership with Sādu is allowing us to go far beyond planting trees – thanks to the ongoing nature of the project, we can now support farmers as they grow their trees into mini forests and provide a sustainable food supply for generations to come.” Karen Nicolas, Director of The Haiti Tree Project
“We are excited to launch this proof of concept with Sādu. Financing our seed banking and agroforestry work through Sādu’s NFTs gives us the resources to plant and protect forests at a much larger scale.” Olesya Solomina, Co-founder, at Re-Climate.

About Sādu: Sādu is a play-to-earn mobile app for natural capital. Reduce your environmental impact and gain access to the market for carbon removal by collecting eco-friendly NFTs. Download the app, subscribe, or play your favorite sport to earn trees monthly. Every tree earned in the app guarantees funding for ecosystem restoration and results in an opportunity to win NFTs backed by living trees. For more information visit: https://sadu.app/
About The Haiti Tree Project: The Haiti Tree Project is a 501c3 non-profit organization supporting Haitian communities to reverse the damage caused by years of deforestation. Funded by donations and driven by the community, locals restore their forests, local economy, and food sovereignty. We are re-establishing a sustainable, tree-based agricultural economy across the mountainous regions of southern Haiti. These forests reduce erosion and flooding, replenish the water tables, sequester carbon, and create a sheltered environment for cash crops. About Re-Climate: The Rivne region in northwest Ukraine was once a biodiverse woodland, home to hundreds of plant, fungus, and bird species. Unsustainable agriculture and amber mining throughout the second half of the 20th century depleted the region’s soils and natural biomes. ReClimate, a women-led regional NGO, is working to change this. It’s restoring the region’s native biodiverse forests, while also creating a replicable model for sustainable forest management benefiting local communities.

About SeaTrees: SeaTrees, by non-profit Sustainable Surf, makes it easy for anyone who cares about the ocean (don’t we all) to directly support communities planting and protecting blue carbon coastal ecosystems. We’re working with The Bay Foundation to restore kelp off the Palos
Verdes Peninsula: https://sea-trees.org/pages/palos-verdes-kelp This is one of the largest and most successful kelp restoration projects globally, and the techniques employed are being replicated around the world. We’ve restored more than 50,000 sq ft of kelp and have plans to restore more than 40,000 more in 2021.
