I’m Daniela Merlano, I’m a Colombian, Positive Psychologist & Coach. I feel a calling to become a voice of hope for more Latam Women in NFTs, Web 3.0, Web 2.0, and all. I believe we can create a more empathic world, through Mental Health Advocacy & Women-Led Projects Advocacy in Web3. I’m passionate about connecting people to Purpose, their passions, and values, through community engagement. I want to inspire more people to feel worthy of dreaming bigger.
What was your journey like to get where you are?
I arrived 7 months ago from Colombia to London, with one dream of “Creating a more empathic world” but how? just had 2 friends in the city. I had been working for 5 years in HR & culture development in LATAM Startups, and being a therapist in my spare time, I opened up an IG account around Positive Psychology, to do videos to help others demystify mental health, but I always felt something was missing. I’ve had to break my own biases and insecurities now, to add value in Web3 space, and learn faster than I ever thought I could, yes I’m non-tech, I’m non-artist in a Techie world, and I’m learning about that. Now, after one month and a half in the space, I have been helping NFTs projects to expand their purpose and raise Mental Health Awareness within their communities. Thanks to the amazing support and welcome I’ve received in the web3 world, through LinkedIn and Twitter, I’m starting my own project. Conspicuis, a community that will demystify mental health as something dark, we will be the go-to community when other projects want to raise mental health awareness in the web3 in an active way, and we will help with brand activation within different Metaverse partnerships, for brands that want to carry our IconicBalloonNFT, an NFT that represents HOPE, and an NFT that represents that all shapes, bodies, and colors are perfect as they are. Our IconicBalloonNFT is a Fashion Statement on inclusiveness and awareness. I care about people, I know the power of PURPOSE and a MEANINGFUL LIFE for all, and I care about the power of all living in a more empathic world, as I see and believe many web3 creators want to be in.
In a simpler phrase, what is your company exactly doing?
Conspicuis brings joy & love to any metaverse that wants to support mental health causes, through brand activation, and community integration. Our community will always receive mental health resources for free, and we will guide brands to the metaverse as they hold the mental health support flag, our IconicBallonNFT. We want to fight loneliness and shame on the metaverse, to naturalize mental health and bring a bright light to it. For us, Mental Health is about flourishing together and enjoying a more empathic world.
What about Metaverse are you most excited for in the future?
I’m excited the most about the possibility of creating A more empathic world. Within this first month in the space, I’ve talked with over 50 people in virtual coffees, and I’m filled with hope around the mindset of some of the Metaverse, NTF & Web3 creators. Is a community that has been courageous enough to think of a better and a more fair world. This community wants to make everyone feel they belong, they want to create the technology to make the freest possible interactions. Are communities that express constant vulnerability and collaboration. Imagine if the world would have been like that ever? I cherish that because is the door to relationships built around what I’ve learned on Positive Psychology, that I finally found a space ready to listen and develop around this, around understanding each other as all equal, all human, all emotion full, all vulnerable and for so, create opportunities for all, kind communications for all. Is not perfect, there is still much lack of awareness of inclusion, body shapes, and mental health still, but I feel we are on the right path.
Why should we be paying attention to the Metaverse?
I feel that after all the bubbles pass, after the “get rich fast” motivations move on, this will be the new era of possible interactions through technology to create, move, interact, buy & sell, and know each other from everywhere in the world as if we were right to each other. The noise around some purposeless projects and incredible economic movement will pass, but the technology will stay. I think that will be the way to offer better education to anyone, everywhere for example. Is already the way to value the real creators of amazing products & arts without that many intermediaries, so it brings fairness to the table. I believe it will keep moving towards economic freedom for many countries, through the possibility of using the whole blockchain system as their financial system and the metaverse as their experience & live store for different products we would have never enjoyed because of web2 world barriers.
